I have a '79 99. The frame and 99% of the body is very solid with no rust, but there is rust on the springs, and upper & lower control arms, and some other parts. What is the best way to clean these parts up? I've never done this before. Should I purchase a blasting cabinet to clean these parts? If so, what type of basting media should I use? Also, I plan to use POR15 to treat the surface rust, but what is the best way to treat rust holes? Must I cut and weld new metal? I don't have any welding experience. Is there a putty of some kind that can fill the holes? Something that can be molded and sanded to shape, and is also like POR15 paint in that it will keep the rust from returning? I hate rust!!!!!! Also, can I use POR15 on things like springs? Sorry for all the questions. I guess I should not expect every question I asked to be answered as there are too many :-) But any help is appreciated!
