Only EMS... Posted by Larry West [Email] (#1140) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Larry West) on Fri, 15 Feb 2008 13:31:29 In Reply to: Can anyone help?, VintageSaabRiderJ, Thu, 14 Feb 2008 12:14:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I presume you mean the Saab factory-fitted sliding variety?
The only 2-door 99s with sunroof were the EMS models, if I recall. 4-door with sunroof were GLEs, and 3-doors with sunroof were probably all turbos...
A lot of 76 & 77 EMSs made in Belgium (plant code 7) rusted away dramatically. Though, I have seen a couple that avoided the rust monster somehow... I had a 7 or 8-year old EMS made in Belgium that had cancer like it was a 20 year old Ford...
But I digress...
Sunroofs were introduced in 76 on the EMS (the Belgian sunroof is of different design from the Swedish) and carried to the turbo and GLE.
Good luck finding one!
