Propane retrofit with carb, thoughts? Posted by Scott Brown [Email] (#1388) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Scott Brown) on Tue, 23 Sep 2008 07:54:16 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi all,
I'm wondering what you all think of this idea: I was reading about a propane conversion on an offroad truck website, and got to thinking what a cool idea that would be. In my daydreaming, it seems to be an easy conversion with little to no downside. I have a carb manifold... The site states their kit fits: 4 barrel Holley, Edelbrock, Ford,Chevy,Mopar etc...with squarebore manifold... though i'd be surprised if it would fit the single saab carb.
Also they don't recommend enclosed spaces for the tanks (they use welders tanks), does anyone know why that might be a problem?
Anyway, i'm curious what you all think. We don't have to go through emissions, and could change to a carb model manifold. This is close to a pipe dream, but at the same time it would be cool to have an alternative fuel vehicle that was relatively cheap to create with no driveability issues.
