I think you will need the wiring from a 2.0 to make this work. I could be wrong, but when i went the other way and put a 1.85 in a 74 99 (when i was younger and full of energy), I basically rewired the engine compartment. Not something i would do now, but i did learn a lot about the car.
Maybe there is an easier plug and play method? I could see using the 72 intake manifold, but i'm not sure it would bolt on.
