I wonder if anyone here has any experience hooking a tachometer up to a stroker engine. At first I thought it would be hard to find one for a 3 cyl. two stroke engine. Perhaps a motorcycle tach?

I then had a thought that a standard old six cylinder tach should work just fine. I'm assuming that tachometers work by counting the number of blips from the points per second. So a 6 cylinder engine should put out 6 blips per *two* crankshaft revolutions, or 3 blips per revolution. A 3 cylinder two stroke engine also puts out 3 blips per revolution. Did that make any sense?

Anything wrong with reasoning here? If no one tells me I'm crazy I think I'll try it out. I post what I find out.
