Well, no runs is what every painter strives for(sanding runs is more work). We used to make a joke at our shop and our other buddies shops also. We'd say "the car looks good, and runs good too!" to the painter if there were any to speak of.
Many factors cause the paint or clear to run....air pressure too high, cold temperatures, gun speed, being too close to the car when spraying, spray pattern not set right, mix too thin...and I'm sure there are a few more that I'm not recalling at this time.
The beauty of it is, that with some sanding, re-spraying, sanding some more, and buffing...the car is gonna look sweet!!
