Did you set the gap at .016"?
Not really a stupid question.
Had a kid come into the shop years ago and buy a set of pooints for his MGB. He went outside and a few minutes later came in and borrowed a screwdriver to install them. A few minutes later he came in and said that now it wouldn't start. Ed asked him, "What did you set the points at?" to which he replied, "Oh, you have to set them?"
If the points arent' opening and closing at the proper interval, they won't send a spark from the coil.
