Your engine is not overfilled with oil, that's good.
Your head gasket isn't blown, pressurizing the crankcase because your not losing antifreeze and the underside of your oil cap isn't all goopy- That's good. So all you have an oil leak somewhere. You just have to find it. The valve cover gaskets are notorious for leaking. The bolts bend the covers over time (where the bolts go through the cover) and need to be made flat again. Jack Ashcraft sells very neat little clamps that go under the valve cover bolts. The clamps press the valve covers down in-between the bolts.
Bottom line- clean the engine and find the leak.
