I rebuilt my front calipers on my '67 V4 (thanks to all who gave help and guidance). Not too hard once I figured out how to take them apart.
Quick questions:
The Haynes book mentions and shows "spring retainers" that hold the brake pads in place, Mine doesn't have these. The cotter pins hold the pads sort of in place. Where could I find some of these and do I need them? The pads seem kind of loose in there.
One of the calipers has one of the springs missing that holds the hydraulic piston assembly in place. Again, where could I find one of these and do I need it?
Finally, the manual mentions "shims" but neither side had any. Same questions as above, where do I find some and do I need them?
Thanks!
