You have to butcher a stroker distributor to install the pertronix. If it fails you CAN'T re-install the points.
The unit drops in a V4 with ease but I still use points. I had my super HP 68 Sonett up to 7500 RPM yesterday in 4th- I was going mighty fast. The points did not float and do not have a stiffer spring.
What can I say? I like old shit that requires routine maintenance more than little mystery black box's that I have no idea how they work or how to fix them.
