The original radio only had one monaural speaker mounted in a metal housing and hung under the dashboard. I seem to reember it being high up in the passenger side footwell. You'll get better sound out of speakers mounted on the rear deck than under the dash or in the trash bins. You could get a speaker that surface mounts rather than having a hole in the panel and hang some on the doors. There's not much room in the door for a speaker to clear the window mechanism.
