(KsKid here: Surrepticious understudy of Spiv ... shh). Just catching up on my email, and to touch some points that haven't been mentioned yet:
1) I assume the torque brace at the top drives side of the engine... from a bell housing bolt to the drivers side engine bay has been adjusted properlay so there is no bind or "push". 2)Have you pulled back the floor
carpet to expose the rear tranny mount and checked the bolt there to see if it is tight? 3)Did you experience any difficulty in pushing the engine into the tranny drive shaft? If you left the tranny in the car when you pulled the engine? These pressure plates are rather fragile, as I recently
destroyed one by trying to force it into connection when the trans input shaft was not on a straight line with the pilot shaft bearing in the center of the flywheel. Since it is only a days job to pull the engine, and inspect the pressure plate and clutch and put it back, you can do that to check that part. Also if you do and want to be sure, you can pull the tranny also, it is easier to mate the two on a bench than in the car, and put the engine/trans back in as a unit. Bye the bye: I'm now a bachelor, and expeirence far more satisfaction from my Saab than from my former spouses, (also more frustration...)
