On 3 trips to Sweeden we have seen numerous yellow cation road signs with a moose pictured. In fact the suvenior shops are full of stickers and such picturing said signs. They just call them elk over there. Saab even crash tests cars into a device where the hood of the car goes under the "belly" of a moose and the impact is taken by the windshield and A pillars. Elk do not have legs as long as what we call moose. Also while eating lunch at a little buffet in the same building as the Saab museum I asked our Swedish friend who was showing us around as to what the meat we were eating was. It was like hamberger. He asked someone and they told him it was moose or elk meat.
