... a spare engine-mount bracket and are VERY confident of your welding skills, you might try welding a big piece of pipe into the valley of the bracket and then fitting the pipe end into your engine stand instead of the normal holder that goes there. Naturally you'd choose a piece of pipe as close as possible to the diameter of the regular holder. I've never done this myself, but someone told me it works.
I say you have to be very confident of your welding skills, because if your weld is bad and the bracket breaks off the pipe, the engine will fall to the floor, and if your toes happen to be underneath it, it will ruin your whole day...
Also, I wouldn't put the engine on ANY stand with the transaxle attached! It's too tail-heavy and won't balance. I know it's a pain, but it's safer to "dock" and "undock" the transaxle with the engine sitting on blocks. One of those adjustable transmission jacks with wheels on it makes it a lot easier to maneuver the transaxle into place and get it tipped at the correct angle.
