I think you are jumping to an unjustified conclusion about a carburetor fault and need to look elsewhere for your diagnosis. Even if you inadvertently dumped some dirt down the carb bore with the air cleaner off, it would go straight through the carb and might make a mess of the engine, but would not get into the innards of the carb to cause a need for cleaning.
You can clean the carb on the car (internally where it counts) to a large extent by removing the top of it, IF you know what you are doing. I do not recommend you try it this way and will not try to teach you here. You can only clean it properly after removal and complete disassembly. Various manuals have instructions.
No special tools for this carb. Proper carb cleaning solution to soak the parts in is best, but you can make do with spray carb cleaner and risk inferior results.
Yes if you disassemble the carb you should install all new gaskets.
BUT, to repeat, based on your report I think you have another problem than dirt in the carb and you need to find out what it is.
