Don, you could try an old tube. Just cut the thing in half, tie off one end and put the other end over the reservoir. If it slips, use a hose clamp or something. If you use gravity every drip allows air to enter the system. Think of what happens with a straw. Each time the surface tension breaks due to the forces of gravity something has to take its place. It makes sense that the fluid above it would simply push itself down but the force just isn't enough. It won't take much to force the air out with the tube/MC cap method. They sell systems that have "caps" in them for bleeding hydraulics. Maybe a parts store would sell just the bleeder cap that will fit your car.
I'm still a fan of the bike tube, though.
