clutch adjustment

Saabers,
I am experiencing a challenge again with the clutch adjustment. I have to remove the locking nut on the tranny bell housing, in order to adjust to 4mm. If I place the locking nut on, then the travel is not enough to set to 4mm.
Any help?
Thanks
