It has been a few years since I drove a stroker daily but someplace in the garage I still have the mileage log from one 96 I used for a daily 100+ mile roundtrip commute to work. That was a 67, triple carb, standard motor, MC850 exhaust. In town 22-25 mpg, work commute 25-30, highway trips trying to be conservative, 30 -33 mpg. Commuting with 3 others in a 68 wagon, again standard 850 during the early 80s, I typically got 25-27 mpg. Best ever was my first car, a 68 96 my Dad bought new. I replaced the blown 820 with a warmed up 850, ported, Dave B. rebuilt 750 GT crank, MC 850 carbs & exhaust. One highway only trip during the fuel crisis I managed 37 mpg, coasting a lot, drafting anything I could at following distances I won't be showing my 15 y.o. son!
Note all of these were using 100% gas, none of the E10 junk. Most of the early days with the warmed motor were using Amoco premium.
Cheers,
Ken
