I used lead additive and octane boost for years in my 1973 Volvo until one day the residue from all those additives plugged the fuel intake and, when I looked into the fuel sender opening, noticed deposits all over the inside of the entire tank. Had to change the tank, filter and FI pump (!@#?).
Use it on long hauls to protect the motor but don't store it with that crap in the tank. You could just spend your money on having the heads overhauled and have hardened valve seats installed - then the problem's solved for good.
