I managed to acquire a nice serviceable set of complete hubs from a Saab 95 with disc brakes, and plan on installing them on my '67 96. I have gone completely through these units... new bearings, rubber boots, new rotors and pads, new hoses, etc.
They are complete, right down to the u-joint-style roller bearing caps on the "T" druve, and ready to bolt on:
I am ready to make this conversion, but, even after reviewing all my Saab reference manuals, it is not completely clear to me how the "T" end disconnects from the transmission. I don't want to disable the car until I am sure of the process.
Does this end of the axle just pull out once the hub is disconnected from the A arms? Or is there some retainer clip/bolt/etc., that holds the axle into the transmission?
Any knowledgeable guidance and detailed explanation will be greatly appreciated.
