Hey there.
I am in the midst of replacing my 3rd failed Bosch alternator. The first two developed a nasty buzzy vibration between 3000 to 3200 rpm, on the third one the voltage regulator failed.
Short story long, I’m done with Bosch. I now have a lovely little Denso 60 amp unit from an ‘86 Honda Prelude that turns the opposite direction as it should. It’s about 2/3 the size and weight and after some finagling, installed nicely. But... I don’t quite know how to wire it up.
I have the two heavy cables from the battery/starter attached correctly and the ground wire to a bolt on the housing but there is a 4-way plug on the back that has me stymied. I found a wiring diagram and have a wire from my ignition connected to what is supposed to be the ignition connector, but voltage says just barely over 12v even revved up.
Any help out there? Thanks!
