96 Windshield Replacement
Posted by rbrianh (more from rbrianh) on Sun, 29 Mar 2020 12:29:28
The current newsletter from the Vintage Saab Club has a really good article on replacing a windshield but if I understood it correctly the chrome lock strip goes in the rubber gasket before the windshield goes in the body. My 72 96 has two small clips that go in the lock strip groove and basically provide more of a mechanical means of holding in the windshield. This means the windshield and rubber gasket would have to go in first, then the two clamp pieces and the lock strip put in with the windshield already in the car. Was this something added to the cars sometime before mine was built?
