The early style donut inner driver is not that reliable. You would need to change the differential carrier to use the donuts, they have a long bolt that holds them into the diff.
The rubber boot type is a much better driver, almost as good as triball type.
Under hard use the donuts shred apart and leave a bunch of slop in the joint.
