See below: I thought this might be a Spec S factory prepared engine which was sold as an accessory/option for the Quantum Kit. But it probably isn't. Many, many similarities between the engine internals and the description of the Spec S engine, but the pistons and head do not match the Spec S. The head could have easily been changed but changing pistons would have been much harder. The stock pistons discovered inside eliminated the chance this was an old Spec S Quantum engine. Tom Donney rebuilt this engine in his Ft Dodge Iowa shop.
Transmission(s) were rebuilt by board regular Bernie and picked up from Harmony PA last week. The one with 2-stroke clutch housing and cable clutch will be used in my Quantum.
Chassis and Control Arms were delivered to the Powder Painter two months ago. Control Arms, Springs, Pedals, Wheels, Coolant Tank, and Misc Engine Brackets are done. Still waiting for the chassis to be painted. The exhaust manifold was delivered to a much closer coater last week for its White Ceramic coat.
