On my '75 99 the seats are a hybrid - the lower frame is from the 99, so that the rails and adjustment mechanism did not have to be altered at all, and the seat cushion and seatback/headrest are from the 900. I don't think it was terribly difficult to accomplish, as it doesn't appear any modifications were made to the frame. And it looks and feels exactly as a 900 seat does.

If you already have the 99 seat installed, you may be able to simply switch in the seatback from a 900 and be done with it.
