I haven't used a fancy brake tool for 96 rear brakes yet and I been doing them for over 30 years. The springs on the SAAB are not so straong that you can't pull the shoes into place with the springs on, My dodge 3/4T pickup is a different story. The springs are almost too strong for the tools.
