For my birthday last august, my wife paid a guy to do it. I helped him, and it took 5 hours. It is really no different then doing a 900. I have watched/helped do about 4 saab headliners.
Here are some pointers.
1- If it breaks by the sunroof, don't worry, you wont see it.
2- Scribe arount all the sunroof internals so you can line them up again when the headliner is re-assembled.
3- You have to glue the material to the sunroof(It isn't glued from factory) Make the material wrap around the front lip, and when you re-attach it, you'll have to poke holes in the material for the front screws.
4- Take your time cleaning the headliner and wings. You don't want to do this again in 2 years.
This job really isn't that hard. If your car is a hatchback, take the headliner out the back, if its a sedan, you can break the headliner at the sunroof and take it out the front door.(you really can't tell when its put together, I have seen it done) I have done one by myself, a 86 900t. It turned out okay. Average results are pretty easy to obtain, but professional results are tough. The headliner in my 78 99t looks absolutely perfect, and the sunroof works like new. Then again my wife paid the guy $300 to come to our house and do it.
