John, I'm glad the dryer worked out. Yes I do know of a good substitute. There is a smaller universal unit available available from any AC parts source. It's the exact same one my 99 came with. J.C. Whitney USED to carry it, but recently stopped. When they drop an item, they'll usually keep in in stock for a while, so if you have an older Whitney catalog kicking around, give it a shot...they were real cheap. The nice thing about AC parts books is that all items are pictured and fitting sizes and dimensions are listed. If you can't find what you want in a standard automotive AC book, go to a farm equipment/commercial equipment one. The only problem with fixing or restoring old Saab AC settups is the interior consol stuff...that's the ONLY stuff purely Saab. Every single component is still out there if you do the research. Maybe I should have installed that car cooler in my '72....it can be a pain at times chasing these parts down, call me crazy, but I'd rather have the older less efficient original settup than hack up a nice car for the sake of a modern unit.
