Dear Lilly: Moral(?) encouragement: I had 3 or 4 strokers back in the '60's
but i think they were all prior to '67. No matter all the 60's are about the same unless they were Monte Carlo's. But they were a ball to work on!
Just pop the axles out of the tranny and lift the engine out, (Didn't even
need a hoist! Maybe thats the cause of my lower bak pain nowdays?)
Any engine that sets for years unless it is in Arizona or No. Mexico is
going to get moisture condensation in the cylinders which accumulates rust
there and when the rust gets thick enough you cant push the pistons up and
down anymore. Even if the spark plugs were still screwed in. If the engine
didnt have spark plugs in it. It will have to be rebored out to the max and
you will have to pull the pistons out from the bottom. Follow other readers advice and soak it in their recommended oil for about a month, and
then take the head off, hit the pistons with a heavy hammer with the wood end and see if they move. Sit it on its head and take the bolts out of the
bottom end. If you cant get it apart by then, put it in a basket, take it
to a machine shop where they can put it in a "tank" of solvent and that will do it for sure ! Good Luck; "The Sobless Kid"
