96 Transmission Noise Posted by TimC [Email] (#3216) [Profile/Gallery] (more from TimC) on Thu, 6 Jun 2002 11:05:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hello, I'm the proud new owner of a 67 96 two stroke. The transmission shifts fine but has a kind of constant whirring gear type noise in all gears. It's only under load though. Foot on the gas: rrrrrrrrrr. Foot off the gas: quiet. It's not super loud but it's loud enough to be annoying. Question is, is this just the way these transmissions are? If not, any ideas into the source of the noise, bearings, actual gear noise? Any potential harm being done to it?
Thanks for any help!!
Tim
