The rally EMS had a 16V head, the rally Turbo did not. The rules changed at sometime and since Saab didn't have a production car with a 16V head (yet), the couldn't use it any more.
Brand new B-type engine waterpump are available in Sweden. Also available in Europe, a newly designed/manufactured head for the B-type engine. I think it's made from aluminium alloy and made for classic/semi-classic racing and is a lot better than a 900 16V head.
I agree with some of you, keep the 99T (also EMS and GLE's) as original as possible. Do all your conversion and hot rod work on the standard 99's, that what I did anyway...
Oh..yeah...I saw a 96 with a twin turbo Audi V6 engine once, also I know a guy who is almost finished with a 99 where he has build in a '99 Maserati 3200 GT (3.2 liter twin turbo V8) engine, a 6 speed sequential gearbox and 4 wheel drive (!!!). So I guess everything is possible....but please don't ruin the classics!
Have fun & good luck!
Vince
