Check to see that the carb float level is correct. If it is too high it may be flooding over from heat expansion when you shut it off. After a long run, just take off the air cleaner while it is still hot and look in the carb throat to see if it is dripping gas into the manifold. Another test would be to run the car up to temp, shut it off, wait five minutes, then push the accelerator to the floor and hold it there and then try to start the engine. This lets more air into the manifold. I have had the same senario caused by the points closing up from wear.
