Experience at Downtown SAAB in Oakland? Posted by Randy Thatcher [Email] (#22) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Randy Thatcher) on Fri, 19 Nov 2004 11:34:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just took my "new to me" 2001 9-3 coupe into Downtown SAAB for a 15k service. I forget what a 15k service consists of since I last owned a 2000 9-3, but they said it's just an oil change.
I'm used to dealer service at a SAAB only dealership in Cleveland, Ohio. They treated their customers very well. Every service included a very good safety inspection and a free car wash. A SAAB tech looks after the inspection, and sometimes the oil change.
At Downtown SAAB I waited 2 hours for the oil change. I had an appointment, too! No car wash. Also they told me they'd have to have a SAAB tech look at my radio complaint (intermittent random/rare buzzing), but I'd have to drop the car for the day to get that looked at. Meaning a lube-tech was doing the work and a SAAB guy wouldn't be looking at the car... Price was good, lobby was OK, but service was not what I expected. Also, there was only 1 SAAB in their showroom... Where do the keep the cars? I think one strategy for selling cars is to have a bunch of nice shiny new cars waiting for lingering service customers, especially those facing expensive repairs. Any other experiences?
How does Dirito compare? I've only been there once for alignment on my 1994 ragtop and I think I know more about cars than their service writer.
