I hope everyone who was at B&B SAAB today for the bay area saab club meeting had as much fun as I did. Things got rolling around 10AM as people began to arrive. We had saabs ranging from the model 96s all the way to new 2002 9-5s and everything in between. We had a total of 26 cars and 35 people in attendence. By noon time things were in full swing with a catered lunch provided by B&B. Shawn Pierson our host for the day had the parts department open and sales were brisk as I saw quite a line inside the new parts department. After lunch there was a raffle of saab goodies such as mugs, car cleaning kits, books etc. What was really fun was the 'flea market' where people whose names were drawn from the raffle tickets could pick parts from the $1 or $5 area. Most everyone came away with something. When it was time to pay for the flea market parts Shawn declared everything was free courtesy of B&B!! You never saw such a frenzy of SAABers as every last part was scooped up and happily carried back to their perspective SAABs! Mike Schadan of SPG9, Atascadero then held a tech session where he answered questions from club members about their SAABs. I don't think anyone stumped the expert. The rest of the afternoon was spent with members looking at each others cars, people catching up who hadn't seen each other in a while and a lot of people making new SAAB friends. We had people travel from as far away as Boise ID, Kirkwood, CA and Ceres, CA. All in all it was a great day of SAABing. I want to give a special thanks to Shawn Pierson of B&B SAAB for sponsoring the club today and making the event a success.
