Ouch - not fun. I assume a 6 cylinder? You might contact Pearce European in Santa Cruz (http://www.pearceeuropean.com/)(I have no experience with them; just chatted with some of their folks at a track day a while back) Embarcadero Automotive in SF is a Saab specialist and used car sales place - they may know someone who is interested in an older 9-5 to play with.
At 73 K miles, that's a very low mileage car. You probably won't get much for it It might be worth seeing what repairs would cost vs a replacement car. The 9-5 is a very nice car - the used car values are ridiculously low.
When was the timing belt changed? mayhap the dealer/indy can help you out if the service was recent.
Good luck,
Paul
