I bought a 2004 9-3 Arc w/ 6 speed manual and 40,000 miles on it for $6,000 a long time ago (it was a steal). I sold it to my brother at 60,000 mi and they drove it to 230,000 mi with really no problems except for window regulators and sunroof leak. It was a really fun to drive car and quick. I have had many luxury cars, but I am a pilot and always have a fond spot for Saab.
I love the look of the 9-5 and I have found a 2011 9-5 Turbo 4 with the ultra rare manual with 120k mi for $5900. This is the base model with no options so far as I can tell, but to me that means fewer things to break and I don’t have the adaptive strut issue. I also wouldn’t have the service of AWD or timing chain issues of the 6.
Saab #2 is 2011 with 67k miles for $9500 but it’s an automatic Turbo 4 premium.
Option #3 is a 2011 with 134k and a motor that needs a new motor apparent, but is only $2900. Engine code was P0335-Crank Sensor Performance. I’ve seen you can get a whole new motor for ~$2200 plus labor.
Of the 3 options, which would you think I should pursue? I’m very tempted for the mileage with the manual. It’s the cheapest for sale in the country from what I have seen, but the mileage is higher. Or should I settle for a manual with lower mileage or just get a new motor put in one?
