Ro, I will check with him on the specific type of ATF -- he usually does things pretty by-the-book.

When I first felt the drag when decelerating, I had a 'Saab expert' (not my mechanic) change the trans fluid the first time and replace it with the proper red stuff. He told me something like he could only pump out half of it out as some stayed in the differential or somesuch place. I took the car to him initially hoping dirty fluid could be making the trans drag/downshift. He told me it was a quart low. Needless to say, that didn't solve the problem.

Two months after the fluid change, I had the severe clunk and high RPM issue which prompted me to seek help here.

I will check with my mechanic on what scanners he has.
