That groove looks like it should have an o-ring in it. Use your calipers to measure the groove thickness and diameter then get an o-ring to fit. Alternatively, buy another sensor that will come with the correct o-ring/gasket, then save your existing one for the electronics since it’s likely fine. Just move the o-ring over if you ever need to use it again.
Any air leak after the sensor element is unmetered air and will set a code. The seal at the air box is not terribly important but the downstream one is.
