I folded down the rear passenger seat and it fit perfectly on the flat surface, and made it easy and convenient to get stuff out.
I plugged it into the rear "cigarette lighter" socket (drivers side, near the rear taillight). that socket is perfect because:
1 - it's powered when the car is on or not. So we left it plugged in, in the car overnight, and it stayed cold.
2 - the car monitors that outlet and if it draws too much (it wont) or if it draws the battery down below a threshold it will turn off the power to protect the starting battery.
Also, about those fridges:
- they draw very little power, about 2-3 amps on average.
- it's a legit fridge/freezer. they use a low power, DC, compressor (common in the marine world)
- the fridge also monitors the car battery and will turn itself off if the voltage drops below a threshold ... to protect the car's battery.
- the bluetooth interface to the fridge is great.
take pics!
