Hi all — Saab enthusiast here (11 in the fleet right now) with a new one I'm trying to learn about.
I've got an NG 9-5 Aero V6 Turbo XWD that wears the Hirsch antler badge next to the 9-5 Aero emblem on the trunk. I'd love help figuring out whether this car actually received genuine Hirsch Performance work, or whether a previous owner just added the badge.
From what I understand, Hirsch was Saab's factory-authorized performance partner, and some NG 9-5s got Hirsch software, suspension, exhaust, wheel, and cosmetic upgrades. I also know the badge by itself doesn't prove anything — some badged cars were never upgraded, and some upgraded cars were never badged.
My questions:
Is there a reliable way to confirm Hirsch software from the car itself (ECU read, tune signature, dyno numbers)?
Has anyone here had success contacting Hirsch directly to verify a car? If so, how did you reach them, and what did they need from you?
Any Hirsch-specific tells on the NG 9-5 — wheels, exhaust, suspension/damper part numbers, interior bits — I should look for?
Happy to share the VIN by DM, and to post photos — badge, engine bay, suspension (CDC Sachs adjustable dampers), wheels, interior, whatever helps.
