Rico,
Your points have validity. However those dealers that have chosen to reduce inventory ( or eliminate it ) have found no problem to sell w/o warranty at about 40% off sticker. This level puts 9-5's from about 23k for base 4 cyl model to about $36k for loaded up Aero. However as has been seen the more option equipped ones sold fastest, even though it made the price higher.
Right now on cars. com there are some 400 new 9-5's listed throughout the US. Very few of them are listed any where near 40% off. As with the dealer you found they simply are willing to hold on and wait for a buyer to come near their asking price.
Realistically a new Saab with no miles even though it has no warranty at more than 50% off will not happen for at least the balance of the 2012 auto model year. This would mean sub 20k prices on base 9-5's and 15k for some 9-3's. Nice to dream but it will be a while before that happens.
One final comment. Many Saabs are listed as "new" because technically they have never been registered. However some dealers used them for exstensive demos etc and many listed as new turn out to have 4k to 10k miles on them. Just do your homework carefully.
