I think it is easier to understand the Dead Sea scrolls than trying to decipher what the Saab people and GM were thinking of plugs and coils the last years of Saab.
The 2006-07 9-3 V6 uses spark plugs p/n 12788884 (NGK PLFR6C-10G) which Saab did not supersede to the 08 9-3 V6 plugs which is p/n 55564748 (NGK DILFR7B10G).
Why they didn't, I have no clue.
The 06-07 9-3 V6 used ignition coils p/n 12583514 --> 12613057 --> 12629037 where the last super-session is also used in the 08 9-3 V6.
The 2010-11 9-5 V6 use spark plug p/n 55564748 and ignition coils 12632479.
When you run the 08 9-3 coil number through some sites, it also fit a slew of other GM products up to roughly 07-08. When you run the 10-11 9-5 coil number you see it fit a slew of GM products from roughly 07 and up.
So there you have it. It "probably" will work but I can't say for sure.
Sometimes for a car manufacturer, going with a different spark plug could be as easy as that the old spark plug had 60K interval change and the newer has 100K.
You know how they all strive for NO tuneup until 100K or ALL services paid for until car breaks down.
Now I'm going to continue with the sea scrolls.
