If thats your first M1, do not extend the drain interval as the synthetic may be releasing crud.

You can probably do better than that. Tires need to be up to pressure and they can be soft in cold weather if not topped up. Side and head winds have a large impact. So if there is a wind, 3 out of 4 relative directions will hurt. When I went from M1 10W30 to Mobil Delvac 1 5W40 in my 95SET, it ran better and MPGs improved. I have not done a compare of the Delvac 1 5W40 VS the M1 0W40 yet.

Try the M1 0W40 and trust your senses. I expect that you will hear and feel a difference.

My 95SET was a CDN vehicle that migrated with me to Kansas, and it was rear ended late 2002.

The T5 seemed to loose MPGs when its really cold. The T7's don't do that. My 9-5 3700 pound Aero Wagon gets better MGPs that my 95SET ever did, and thats on the same commute to the job that I used to have. So something about the T7 is really good as far as fuel economy goes. Thats quite the accomplishment considering that the engine is quite the same.
