It's on there good. I had to use a special, home made chisel. It has to be really long, at least a foot.
Get some aluminum sealing washers to use for the fill, check, and drain plugs. This is so you don't have to tighten it as much as it was before. Search for Dean's post on this for Volvo part numbers for the washers.
I would drain, then fill completely (whatever the spec is) with the synthetic, drive for 500 miles or so, then drain and fill again.
Redline MTL is a good synthetic which may be cheaper (and possibly better) than Saab's.
