same year same issues. has the IAC been cleaned AND lubed (search IAC or idle air)? mine has been more reliable since, but not great. i have also been running techron concentrate.

i will wait for other advice with you. (my clutch just went, so i have been out of action for the last week just as these problems seemed to be getting better (?) due to the IAC lubing - i didn't re-lube it the first time i took it out to clean it so it was maybe still sticking. see previous posts by me re: this if it seems to fit).

good luck. also, the whine... i have it, but may not be as bad as yours. I fear balance chain. Do you have any sludge?
