Although some like to piece together these projects, I don't. Check with Crutchfield, as they will fit your speakers by: mounting size (depth, etc), wattage, etc. The consult is free...I'm sure they like to think EVERYBODY will but from them. I've heard the component systems in a Saab, and didn't care for the phasing distortion.
I installed an Alpine 9805 head, with Rockford Fosgate FRC2203 in the front (dash), and Rockford Fosgate FRC4269 in the rear. I had an existing Pioneer 120 watt sub-woofer amp, but replaced it recently with a 180 watt (duh...I can't remember what brand it is!). Anyway, the hardest part was finding a head unit adapter to fit where the Saab monstrocity was. I ran all the wiring under the step panels and behind the carpets...VERY easy! There are plenty of spare fuse locations and "direct" to battery wires to use. Just follow the manufacturers instructions for the amp...by the way, 400 watts is probably way too much for your application. I mounted the sub-woofer to the rear deck (with easy to use "wire jacks"...to facilitate deck removal).
I'm 51, and also listen to all kinds of music...been in many bands, etc. My set up gets through my buzzing ears very well, with lots to spare.
good luck.
