I took my car in to a local goodyear mechanic and tire dealer to have my car aligned and wheels balanced. They told me that they couldn't align my front end because I need a new LF lower control arm ball joint assembly and two of my rims are slightly bent. Apparently this assembly is about $500 from the dealer. My car is a 95 900s with 74262 miles mfg in 7/94. There is nothing in the service records about suspension repair so I am assuming that this is related to known suspension problems in early production. Does the price for the parts seem right, and what else should I have done or checked out while they are in there? How long can I wait before I do this? The front end doesn't feel terribly loose but the car is slightly out of alignment. The tires are new with only a couple of thousand miles on them.
