Hot start problem V6

My 1994 900 S V6 has started giving trouble with hot starts. Starts just fine cold. When engine is warm/hot, it will usually die a split second after starting and require 1-2 retries to get going. Occasionally (actually often -- 3 times in last week), it will not run at all--i.e., 8-10 tries and no luck. Starter turns over OK and engine seems to run for a split second, but it's as if it has no fuel. My wife got stranded recently and I also got stranded at home doing errands. Makes it very chancey to do short trips, so right now I've confined the car to driving to/from work since it restarts cold OK.
Also, this may be my imagination, but it seems like if it sits for 20-60 mins (but is still warm engine) it has more trouble restarting than if it just sits a minute. On the regular occasions I get trouble (1-2 restarts), it seems to respond a bit when given some gas to prevent dying.
Stuff that is OK: battery, fuel, recent techron, plug wires 6k ago, coolant temp sensor (replaced 2k ago), fuel filter 10k ago, etc.
Unknown: condition of some vac hoses and if any oil in spark plug wells from valve covers. Plugs about 20k old. IAC and throttle body were cleaned about 8k ago so maybe due. However... I can't think of any reason why this stuff would affect the hot start but not the cold start. Cold start problems seem more common.
Thanks, Derek / 1994 900 S V6 / 148,000mi
