The SAAB dealer is the one blowing some hot air.
If you break down and buy new covers (which include gaskets and o-rings), the leaks should be banished for a long time. One nice thing about doing it yourself is you can verify that the bolts are not over-tightened.
If you're not worried about clean air, and/or you're more interested in your engine's longevity, and a tad more power, you can do what I did and free vent the crankcase (see link). Slightly better would be venting via a one-way valve (air pump valve) into the exhaust, if done right, you might get a little vacuum in the crankcase (helps ring seal).
