Pros: Fun to drive and a lot of bang for the buck (leather interior, roomy, etc.). The turbo is really fun to drive. A few simple and inexpensive mods and you can be pushing 195 hps (or so they say) in no time. 195hp while not up to par with the new engines (240-up hps), is still a fun and peppy ride.

The bad is that there are a lot of common problems with these cars. That is both good and bad. Good because about 90% of the maladies of Saabs are well documented and often solved on this board. Bad, because if you are not a DIY kind of person you are looking into a LOT of money for repairs.

I would say a conservative estimate is that this car will cost you about $1500.00 a year in repairs if you are not a DIY. MUCH less if you do some of your own work. More so than other cars (a Honda), these cars need to be pampered and carefully maintained. If you do the maintainance this car will run trouble free for a long, long time.

Start saving for the clutch, which sooner or later will need to be replaced (Expensive repair which is unavoidable on ANY stick car).
